Enhancing Academic Productivity through Artificial Intelligence Tools: A Study of University Students
Abstract
The paper examines how artificial intelligence (AI) tools affect academic productivity among university students in Pakistan. As the use of AI tools in higher education rises, students are turning towards using tools such as Grammarly, ChatGPT, and Notion AI to support their academic requirements. The question that needs to be answered through this study is how these tools affect the capability of the student to manage and schedule his or her time properly, finish his or her homework in an efficient way, and increase his or her performance. The quantitative method was applied to sample 300 students based on various disciplines using validated tools such as the University Students Productivity Scale (USPS), the Artificial Intelligence Practices Scale (AIPS). The regression analysis and structural equation modeling found that high AI use was seen as an effective means of improving academic productivity in three areas: management of time, accomplishment of tasks and academic performance. Nevertheless, research results also indicate some issues connected to excessive reliance on AI-created materials. There are practical implications of the paper to an educator, education institution, and technology developers mentioned in the paper with recommendations on cultivating balanced and ethical integration of AI in higher education.
